What is Diagnostic Testing?

Diagnostic Testing is a science based approach to health that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease rather than just treating the symptoms. One condition or diagnosis may have many causes and one cause may actually produce many conditions such as inflammation which may lead to a number of diagnoses including depression.

One person’s cause of depression may be different from another person’s.  So perhaps the reason why conventional medicine is not helping you to resolve your depression is because your unique cause is not being identified.

The functional diagnostic testing approach takes focus off the name of the illness and instead allows us to work together to find the underlying cause unique to each patient in a truly personalised approach.

Why Diagnostic Testing?

Functional Diagnostic Testing can help to identify and uncover:

        Anxiety

        ADHD

        Acne

        Eczema

        Auto-immunity Disease

        Chronic digestive conditions

        Migraines

        Inflammatory disease

        Crohn's

        Chronic Fatigue

        COPD

        MS

        SAD Syndrome

        Depression

        Menopause

        Fertility

        Celiac Disease

        Inflammatory Bowel

Whichever the diagnosis is Functional Diagnostic Testing allows us to look beneath and see what got you to this point. Naming the issue is just the beginning and getting to “THE WHY” is where the magic happens. It is only then that I can achieve long term sustainable health for my patient without perpetually suppressing symptoms.

The DIAGNOSTIC TESTING guides us to where to begin treatment with me. The Tree shows how diverse symptoms may be linked and helps to determine which systems I need to support first.  It allows me to look more deeply into where the imbalance lies for each of my individual patients, addressing precipitating factors, triggers, and perpetuating factors that keep their disease process continuing.

Rather than focusing on the branches and leaves at the very top of the tree, which represents symptoms and diagnosis, the functional medicine model begins at the ROOTS.

The traditional medical model tends to focus in the branches and leaves.  In order to keep a tree healthy, you need to support it’s very FOUNDATION – the roots and the soil.  If a tree is not healthy, the first place you should look is at these same foundation elements.

During your first consultation with me the foundation issues (sleep, stress, exercise, nutrition, relationships, emotional wellbeing, genetics) are examined and addressed along with predisposing factors (antecedens), events, (triggers), and ongoing physiological processes (mediators).  These influences may then result in the CORE IMBALANCES that we see in the trunk.

Would you like to climb down from the canopy of leaves, dig into the soil and get down to your roots of health and wellbeing?

If so, you can Book your FREE 15 Minute Consultation
